Susan took herself off to Italy to learn what she
could from the great masters. She remained there
for two years and everything she tackled was funded
by what she made from selling her paintings.
Susan returned to East Africa and her adventures
in the bush began. Going off - alone - in her Jeep
to the places she thought would be interesting,
she continued to develop her artistic skills, painting
only from life and sketching all the while. The
more remote and inaccessible a place was, the more
she liked it. For the past nine years, Susan has
been living and working in the Ruaha National Park
in southern Tanzania. Her studio is a camp on the
banks of the Great Ruaha River.
She
has just published a 220-page book in full colour
of her sketches from the Ruaha Park and it is now
available for sale. Sue exhibits around the world,
having had numerous solo shows and combined exhibitions
in London, New York and Johannesburg to name a few.
Sue would like to thank Tanzania National Parks
for all their help, co-operation and support in
her work.
